OK to Send It
A main gauge screen for the bTres S1 and S2 that tells you at a glance whether the car is warm enough to send it. A status pill reads STANDBY with the engine off, then WARMING.
What you need
- Model: bTres S1 or S2 (1920x480 wide screen). The M1 is not as wide and the X1 is 800x480: these screens are not made for them.
- Firmware: bTres firmware v2.08 or newer for the peak and low readouts that only record on hard pulls (reported in the owners group: threshold min/max arrived in v2.08; we have not tested older firmware).
- Data: A DS1 (Dyno Spectrum's data-logging tuning module) sending its default stream (the screen reads only default-stream items; psr_w is only a fallback).
- Back up first: download and keep your own custom screens and images.
- Uploads go to the end of the list: delete all and reload in order, then restart.
Not yet tested in a car. Checked in the Screen Editor preview and against recorded logs only, so colors and the status pill may look different on your unit.

What it shows
On a cold start the dials are amber in the Screen Editor preview, and the oil and water fill like liquid and fade to their real colors as the engine warms. When the oil reaches 185°F (85°C) the pill flips to SEND IT and the dials turn green in the preview: OK to send it.
- A status pill (top right) reads STANDBY in grey with the engine off, WARMING in amber once the engine is running and the oil is under 185°F (85°C), and SEND IT in green from 185°F (85°C) up.
- Amber while cold, then green when warm (as drawn in the Screen Editor preview). The dial rings and most accents are amber on a cold start and turn green when the oil reaches 185°F (85°C). The oil and water fill like liquid, red below 140°F (60°C), fading to orange and blue by 185°F (85°C). Green means the engine oil has reached 185°F (85°C), nothing more: it does not check the transmission, the differential or any fault, so give the gearbox a few more minutes.
- Boost with target and peak. TGT is the target and MAX the peak. It is built to follow the bTres psi/bar setting: in psi it shows boost (gauge pressure, with vacuum shown as 0) on a 0 to 40 scale; in bar it shows the unit's own absolute manifold pressure on a 0 to 3.5 scale, labeled MAP BAR ABS, so it reads about 1.0 with the engine off. The target comes from the manifold pressure target in the DS1 (Dyno Spectrum's data-logging tuning module).
- The pods: intake air temperature (IAT) with its unit, lambda, ignition timing (IGN) with knock (KNK) under it, low-pressure fuel, load, gear and RPM, ethanol percent (ETH) in a pill at the bottom right with a corn icon (the husk is amber while cold and green when warm, drawn in the editor), a bigger g-meter, an oil-level bar and KNOCK / LEAN / LPFP / HPFP chips. Temperatures follow your bTres °F/°C setting.
More details
- IAT is colored like the bTres footer: blue under 104°F (40°C), white to 121°F (49°C), orange to 139°F (59°C), red at 140°F (60°C) and above.
- The min and max readouts under lambda, ignition and low-pressure fuel only record at wide-open throttle, and say so (WOT MIN, WOT MAX), so idle and cruise do not spoil them. The knock readout keeps plain MIN, recorded above half throttle.
- Everything it reads is in the default DS1 log stream on the S6 it was built on, except psr_w, which is only a fallback for cars that do not send psrg_w. If a readout on your car stays blank, check that its DS1 item is being logged.
Install
- Join the bTres Wi-Fi (password betterthan (the default; yours may differ)) and open http://192.168.220.1.
- If you already have custom screens, download each one (and any images they use) and keep the files, then delete them all. If you have none, skip this.
- Under Custom Screens, upload screen_1_ok-to-send-it.json first, then your own screens in their original order. It must be screen 1.
- Restart (the restart button on that page, or a four-finger tap on the screen).
- To undo: delete all custom screens and upload yours again.
Uploads are added to the end of the list, so after any change repeat steps 2 to 4. These steps come from the owners group and earlier installs. They have not been run on a unit with this file. We have not tested what the unit does after every custom screen is deleted. Download and keep all your files first.
If something looks wrong: delete the screen and go back to your own. It only displays data the bTres already receives. Free, no warranty, use at your own risk. It is not a safety device and does not replace the car's own warnings or your judgment.
Report a bug in the bTres owners group on Facebook. Include your car, bTres firmware, psi or bar setting, and a photo.
Version history
The first download was taken down to check the boost readings. The fixes below are checked in the Screen Editor preview and against recorded logs. They have not yet been seen on a bTres in a car.
Version 3, November 3, 2026 Current
Changes since Version 2:
- A corn icon next to the ethanol percent (ETH).
- Cold dial rings are amber instead of olive (drawn in the editor).
- The liquid in the oil and water gauges is always visible when cold.
- Tighter labels and larger dial numbers.
Version 2, November 3, 2026
Superseded, same screen as Version 3 minus the later changes. No bugs found so far; not yet seen in a car. Downloads are under Earlier versions below.
- Fixed: the bar setting is now absolute pressure (0 to 3.5 bar, MAP BAR ABS), matching the unit's own bar display.
- Fixed: vacuum at idle stops at 0 in the psi setting. The readout, target, peak and needle no longer go negative.
- Fixed: the status pill reads STANDBY with the engine off, WARMING, then SEND IT at 185°F (85°C) oil.
- Fixed: content now sits above the unit's bottom bar.
- Changed: cold start is amber instead of red. IAT (intake air temperature) shows its unit and is larger. ETH is a pill at the bottom right. KNK (knock) sits under IGN (ignition timing). The LAG light was removed. The min and max labels that only record on hard pulls say WOT. Oil and water numbers have a shadow for contrast. Boot animations 1 and 2 are amber when cold.
Version 1, November 2, 2026
First release. Downloads are under Earlier versions below.
Known bugs so far. Do not install this version on a car. Use the newest version instead.
- In the bar setting the boost dial showed gauge pressure (0 at atmosphere), so it read up to 0.99 bar below the unit's own bar display, and was labeled BOOST BAR.
- Vacuum at idle showed as about -10 on the readout, and the needle could run past the end of its scale.
- The peak arc could get a not-a-number (NaN) value on the first samples of a drive; this showed up on 94 rows of a recorded pull. Builders: guard the first samples.
- The status pill said STANDBY while the engine ran.
- The bottom of the dial, the load pod and the oil gauge ran under the unit's own bottom bar.
The NaN count is from a recorded pull. The other bugs were found by comparing the screen with the unit's own code and in the Screen Editor preview, not in a car.
Boot animations
Three 1920 × 480 splash videos to match, each in °F and °C. Upload one in the bTres Custom Graphics (Image Management), then pick it in the bTres Settings under Splash screen.
Also free: DL501 clutch adaptation helper (beta)
This screen has only been checked against simulated readings. Nobody has used it for a real adaptation yet, so don't rely on it to decide whether it is safe to run the VCDS steps.
We need a beta tester. If you have an Audi with the DL501 (0B5) and a bTres S1 or S2, try it and tell us what it shows, right or wrong. Tell us in the bTres owners group on Facebook, with your car, firmware and a photo.
How it works (build your own)
- Text elements are raw HTML. A bTres text element can carry <style> and <div> markup, which is how the liquid gauges are drawn. No new bTres software is needed.
- Give that HTML a fixed size. Text elements get a width but no height, so anything drawn inside one collapses unless you size it.
- A hidden monitor drives the colors. A textData monitor is evaluated as JavaScript. A tiny transparent one reads oil, water and intake air temperature ([toel], [tmot], [tans], in °C) and sets CSS variables on the screen. CSS turns those into fill levels, fades and colors.
- Position matters. The bTres names custom screens by their position (#screen_1 …), so CSS that targets screen 1 only works in that slot. Keep element order stable when you edit.
The full write-up is in the README inside the zip.

- The starting point was Load Logic Tuning's "S1-S2 Screen 1 – PI Only". The layout has changed a lot since, but the frame, ring styling and warning chips began there. Load Logic Tuning gave permission to build on it, on the condition that nobody profits from it, so this screen stays free. Thank you.
- The canvas hue-rotate recolor this screen uses was already in Load Logic's screen.
- Other ideas came from posts in the bTres owners group on Facebook, including the liquid-fill gauges. Thank you.
